Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (December 9, 2011) – In celebration of the launch of BEDAT & C°’s remarkable 2011 collection at Starhill Gallery’s fifth consecutive annual event – “A Journey Through Time”, Asia’s biggest luxury watch and jewellery fair; the brand proudly gathered their most distinguished guests consisting of the country’s royalties, social elites, celebrities and members of the media at Shook! Starhill Gallery for a royal gala dinner.

For this special occasion, BEDAT & C° held a press conference in the afternoon to launch its latest collection in Malaysia and took the opportunity to officially debut the brand’s very first App for iPhone to enhance the lifestyle of users. The exhibition area was transformed into an exclusive Art Deco ambience to accentuate BEDAT & C°‘s latest creations and eight portraits of Malaysia’s outstanding and sophisticated ‘Women of Caliber 2011’ – a portraiture project in honor to BEDAT & C°‘s “feminine, intelligent…” philosophy which reiterates the brand’s identity as a Swiss watchmaker that creates especially for ladies.

The arrival of The Royal Highnesses Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Dipertuan Agong XIII Tuanku Mizan and Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong XIII Tuanku Nur Zahirah signaled the beginning of the gala dinner in the evening. A savory five-course modern cuisine soon followed, and jazzy music introduced a cascade of elegant models bejeweled with stunning BEDAT & C° timepieces, which brought on streams of exclamations and exaltation from the esteemed guests.

The gala dinner was a highly anticipated affair for the guests, with the best ‘Glamourous Gatsby’ dressed lady and gentleman being awarded each with a BEDAT & C° watch and award recognition presented to commemorate the Women of Caliber 2011, Malaysia’s outstanding beauties participated in the portraiture project. For the rest of the evening, esteemed guests were entertained by the incredible voice of Ms Syafinaz Selamat - Malaysia’s award winning lyrical soprano.

The 10-day “A Journey Through Time V”, were officially ended with a grand closing ceremony on December 10, with BEDAT & C° Extravaganza collection Ref 288.450.910 being crowned the winner of Starhill Gallery’s YTL Spirit of Classical Art Award 2011. The ever-sophisticated and elegant Extravaganza Ref 288 won the heart of judges with its aesthetic trend-setting design, and to haute-jewellery aficionados, Extravaganza Ref 288 raises another notch in BEDAT & C°’s creative and artistic achievement.
